Vintage Postcards Postcards for Collectors Vintage Postcards Vintage Postcards 1950s postcards these postcards were an expression of a longer social movement that began in the late 1930’s and peaked during the Second World War. Pin-up girls were sometimes photographed but most often drawn. Famous actresses were often turned into Pinups but most images were anonymous. While woman were captured in provocative poses, it was done without being revealing. Their conflicting duality made them sexually attractive to men while representing the independent woman.  In the 1950s post war years pin-ups became one dimensional tools of suggestive sexuality
